QUEEN OF SHEBA

Kings and Queens are the sovereign heads of state in a monarchy – exercising the most authority in a state. Throughout history, kings and queens have been crowned through acts of conquest, inheritance or selection with accounts of monarchs being crowned in their infant years as well as others taking the crown in the most senior years. As part of their narrative, many political doctrines believe that a king or queen is subject to no earthly authority, attaining the right to rule directly from God.

One of Allah’s (SWT) names is Al-Malik – The King – and He is the true King of Kings. And Allah (SWT) shares stories with us from the Qur’an on different kings and queens from the past and how they interacted with certain individuals and situations, so that we can learn from their example – both good and bad.

In December, likeMEDIA.tv have invited Mufti Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf Mangera on tour to relate biographical stories of kings and queens mentioned in the Qur’an and help us understand lessons from their existence. Whether it’s understanding how they treated their subjects or what power did to them or how they reacted to God and His messengers, the lectures will focus on looking at these stories from a fresh perspective. The tour will consist of three lectures over two days and each will focus on the tale of a specific king or queen.

Whether jester or peasant, knight or minstrel, this tour will have something for everyone.
